Dominic has been working in the arboriculture and forestry since 2001 and comes from a family of tree work specialists.
Across the last 15 years he has built up a wealth of practical and theoretical knowledge on trees and tree work practices. After carrying out practical training certification as a trainee on site, he attended Kingston Maurward College to achieve the Royal Forestry Society’s Certificate in Arboriculture and later returned to education at Sparsholt College in Hampshire to study for a Foundation Degree in Conservation and Wildlife Management to broaden his knowledge of trees and their associations in the wider environmental context.
He has worked in almost every aspect of the arboricultural and forestry sectors, carrying out works including; domestic and commercial tree surgery and arboriculture including utility arboriculture in the rail and electricity sectors; works in and around rivers and watercourses and working with cranes and other heavy plant; working in forestry sectors including hard and softwood thinnings, forestry management and clearfelling. Additionally, Dominic has carried out tasks including landscaping, fencing and ground maintenance.
As part of career progression, Dominic has trained to carry out tree surveys and arboricultural consultancy and using his background in practical arboriculture, can bring a practitioners view of the tree in its context to provide advice and recommendations.
Dominic established Ridleaves in 2011 with the sole aim of; providing professional tree care, and worked towards attaining the Arb Approved Contractor status within 4 years of starting the company.
The aim is to continue to offer customers quality tree care advice and service regardless of the size of their project.
